Heidi Talbot With Boo Hewerdine & John McCusker
Presented by The Fallen Angels Club Having cut her teeth as lead singer with Irish American all-female outfit Cherish The Ladies, Heidi Talbot is right at home in the twin worlds of Irish traditional and roots music. Talbot's 2008 CD, In Love + Light, propelled her into the spotlight as a singer with a hunger for lyrically challenging and melodically inventive songs. Produced by Eddi Reader regular Boo Hewerdine, In Love + Light set Talbot on an Indie path that celebrated her traditional influences while giving her distinctive voice its own space. Heidi is no box-ticking singer in search of a cosy lounging space, but an artist invigorated by the search for alternative ways of inhabiting a song. Heidi tours as a trio with multi instrumentalist John McCusker and guitarist Boo Hewerdine. 2009 has seen Heidi tour as the support act and backing singer for Eddi Reader on her 45 date tour of the UK and Ireland. As well as her own sold out concerts and festival performances, she’s toured extensively with new folk supergroup Drever, McCusker and Woomble. When not on tour Heidi is in demand as a recording artist, singing on new records by Idlewild, Eddi Reader, andKris Drever. In Love and Light won an Indie Acoustic Award for best album and Heidi has been nominated for Best Female Vocalist at the 2009 Irish Music Awards.
