Summer Festival is the annual flagship event from Scotland’s national theatre for and by young people. Every summer hundreds of young people, who are passionate about theatre and performance, come to Glasgow from all over Scotland, to take their theatre skills and experience to the next level.
Now in its 36th year, Summer Festival offers a range of courses in performance, production and technical theatre culminating in high-profile performances to packed out audiences in some of the country’s most prestigious theatres.

Performance & Production Course (5 weeks, ages 16-25)

Hone performance skills by working closely with theatre professionals in a focused environment.Take part in specialist skills workshops and rehearsals, culminating in performances for the Main House Productions
Technical Theatre / Stage Management (5 weeks, ages 14-25)

Explore all aspects of technical theatre and stage management from lighting, to set design, to set construction. Technical Course participants run and operate the Main House Productions and the Foundation Course Performance.
Intermediate Course (3 weeks, ages 14-18)

The Intermediate Course bridges the gap between the Foundation Course and the Performance & Production Course. Choose from: 'Ensemble in 5 Week' - work on your performance skills and observe what life is like on the Performance & Production Course. Or 'Devising As An Ensemble' - along with the rest of the group, devise and create a new piece of theatre as you work directly with theatre professionals.
