Blackfriars Guide

Live Music
There is live music in the bar every Tuesday and Sunday from 9.30pm. Tuesday's are the home of The Shiverin' Sheiks performing rock n roll and country gospel. Sundays welcome regular guest bands including Itchycoo Park, The Easy Orchestra, Stretch Dawrson, Mending Hearts and more. For regular updates find them on Facebook here.

Club Nights
Blackfriars is home to many long running club nights including All Tore Up, Friday Street, Shout Bamalama, Argonaut Sounds, Osmium and more. These bring you classic and fresh sounds from across the musical spectrum that are updated on their Facebook.

Dance Classes
Beat that bear belly with a variety of dance classes, both in groups and with private instructors. Monday nights it's Zoot Swing/Lindy Hop class and social from 7.30pm. Wednesdays it's the long running Tango Club, a social club for those who know the dance, from 8pm. Thursday nights it's Swing and Jive with beginners classes from 7.30pm. Food
Blackfriars' kitchen is open 7 days a week from 11am till 6pm providing a mix of lunch deals, traditional main meals and daily specials. Regular updates can be found on their website here.

Drink
Blackfriars has established itself as a quality Real Ale and Craft Beer pub of international repute. They love their beer and only serve what they like to drink themselves. Venue Hire
Blackfriars has a large basement space where various club nights are hosted at the weekend. This room (capacity 180 people approx) is available for hire at all other times. It has a bar and is regularly used as -amongst other things - a party venue, dining room for large bookings, reception area and simply a space for hire. Festivals
Blackfriars is an integral venue in major annual events including The Merchant City Festival where they host an outdoor live music stage and numerous indoor performance events, and The Glasgow International Comedy Festival. In 2012 they are looking to add to this roster of events, so if you're looking for one of Glasgow's best known venues to feature as part of YOUR festival give them a call.
