The Modern Institute, one of the most talked about art galleries in the country and described recently by Art Review Magazine as “a model for galleries around the world”.
The gallery, which has been based in the city’s Robertson Street for the past 12 years, has helped put Glasgow on the world art map through its association with some of the biggest names in contemporary art. The Modern Institute represents around 30 artists at an international level and has been associated with some of the biggest names in contemporary art, including Turner Prize winners Richard Wright and Simon Starling.
Over the past decade The Modern Institute has hosted shows in galleries across Europe and the USA and has three Turner Prize winners and five nominees on its books and several who have represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale.
